Geoworks Bindery
Electronic Book Authoring System
Geoworks Bindery is a graphical publishing tool which lets anyone
easily create electronic books for use on organizers and other
computing devices running the GEOS operating system. It allows computer
hobbiests, aspiring authors or corporate information managers to easily
publish electronic books using a standard desktop PC. Books can than be
transferred to GEOS-based devices like the HP OmniGo 100 for easy
access.
Electronic books are page-based, hyperlinked documents combining text
and graphics. Geoworks Bindery permits the author to structure and
organize each book, richly format the text and graphics, and obtain a
high degree of interaction between the reader and the content. Geoworks
Bindery is designed to be so easy to use that anyone can put together
their own electronic books.
You read finished documents with the Geoworks Book Reader. The Book
Reader provides all of the navigation, search, and printing features
necessary. And Book Reader is built right into the OmniGo 100 for easy
viewing of electronic books.
Geoworks Bindery can be used to create many kinds of electronic books,
with content ranging from general interest to special purpose. Because
the books can be delivered on mobile platforms, information that needs
to be accessible outside of the home or office is especially
appropriate. Content applications may include:
- Travel and restaurant guides
- Catalogs and directories
- Reference works, technical documentation
- Mobile manuals for field personnel
- Literature, including new "hypertext" novels
- Database information
- Stories and adventure games
You can download free samples of books created with Bindery from our
freeware library. Simply click on the "OmniGo Freeware" button for a
list of titles and instructions on downloading them.
